Lucita Paredes Obituary
It is with great love and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lucita Bautista Paredes on June 23, 2025. Born on December 11, 1943, in the Philippines to Lorenzo Gamboa Paderna and Leonila Padilla Bautista, Lucita was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who lived a life full of love, service, and devotion. Lucita was one of seven siblings, with whom she shared many cherished memories. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Lorenzo Jr., Dr. Corazon, Nicasio, Josefa, and Claudia. She leaves behind her brothers, Reynaldo, Nicanor and her dear Sister Augustine. She is also survived by her loving children: Alexander (Tina), Apollo (Mariam), Dr. Azrael, Avelardo; and her cherished grandchildren, Ayrton and Ares Paredes, who were the light of her life. A proud graduate of Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, Lucita earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, beginning a career that would span over three decades. She dedicated her life to caring for others, working with unwavering compassion and commitment at the Veterans Hospital, in Michigan, for more than 30 years. Her work was a true reflection of her nurturing spirit and her profound sense of duty, qualities that she carried into every aspect of her life. In the 1960s, Lucita moved to the United States, where she continued to serve her community and create a life filled with love and meaningful connections. She also served in the Army Reserve, a testament to her courage and devotion to her country. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lucita was known for her many hobbies and passions. She had a special gift for cooking; Lucita's holiday feasts were legendary. She had an unmatched ability to prepare tables overflowing with delicious food, making every holiday gathering feel like a true celebration. Her garden was a place of peace and beauty, reflecting her nurturing soul, and her sewing skills were a testament to her creativity and care for others. A devout Catholic, Lucita was an active member of St. Constance Church, where she found comfort and strength in her faith. Her dedication to her spiritual life was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith. Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life Lucita lived. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her legacy of love, devotion, and service will live on in her children, grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched. May her soul rest in peace, her memory be eternal and may the love she gave to all who knew her continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
