With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Lucrecia (Lorie) De Guzman Toverada. Surrounded by love, Lorie peacefully joined her creator on March 12, 2025, at St. Rose Hospital in Hayward, CA, at the age of 92. Lorie was a resident of San Leandro for 50 years.
Lorie was born in Pangasinan, Philippines. She married the love of her life, Felipe (Pepe) Toverada on March 17, 1955. Lorie had a degree in Pharmacy from the Philippines. She moved to the United States in 1967 with her husband and children on a professional visa for Blue Cross.
Lorie enjoyed tending to her beautiful backyard garden, playing Mahjong with friends, cooking for her family and trips to the Casino.
Lorie is survived by her 4 children and their families. Reynaldo and Elsie Toverada; their 3 children, Krystal, Ashley, and Ariel. Simonetta Toverada; her daughter Celicia. Norbeta and Mark Johnson; their 2 children Matthew and Nicoletta. John and Regina Toverada. Great grandchildren; Oz, Avah and LuKai. Lorie is also survived by her many nieces and nephews that reside in the United States and the Philippines. California residents include Adonna and Doug Eckstein; their 2 children Patrick and Zachary. Cindy De Guzman and Mel Basto 2 children Arthur and Ethan, Rosedale, and Sylvia Mendez; their 2 children Shaila and Ransley.
Vigil and viewing scheduled for March 26, 2025, at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. Mass and Funeral scheduled for March 27, 2025 at St. Felicitas Church 1662 Manor Blvd, San Leandro at 10:00AM.
