Lucy Berridge Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 7, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Lucy Berridge, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She peacefully left this world on November 14, 2025, at the age of 93.

Born in Anthony, NM to Maria Quinones Provencio and Agapito Provencio on July 1, 1932, Lucy was full of warmth and kindness. After having three boys, her mother named her Luz because she said that she had seen the "light" but everyone called her Lucy. Lucy was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Chester Berridge, and her brothers Jake, Ben, Augie Provencio and sister Tila Shaya. Lucy's strength and zest for life were an inspiration to all who knew her. She often shared the wise advice, "work hard and always try your best." A testament to her resilient spirit was exhibited through the business she and Chester built together where Lucy spent almost 40 years managing the office, bookkeeping, loading trucks with fuel - whatever was needed. Lucy also frequently brought homemade goodies to the office for everyone to enjoy.

A passion for Lucy was her love of cooking and all gadgets and tools related to cooking and baking. Her home always smelled of fresh baked bread, a meringue pie, cobbler and of course, dinner. Her joy in making and sharing Christmas cookies and all her baked goods will always be remembered fondly by those touched by her generosity. Her kitchen was truly the heart of her home and everyone was welcome there.

Lucy's legacy lives on through her children, Debbie Urig (Ed) and Ted Berridge (Marcia). She was a wonderful grandmother to Travis Urig (Olivia) and Kelly Culler (Matt) and great-grandmother to Brooks, Samuel, and Wyatt Urig and Paloma Culler.

Though we deeply mourn her passing, her memory and spirit will undeniably remain in our hearts. We will remember her as a symbol of strength, a beacon of love, and above all a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

A private service will be held for the family. If you wish to honor Lucy's legacy, invite some friends over and cook a great meal. She would love that.
