Lucy Rita Durn naci en Laguna Seca, Nuevo Mxico, el 29 de abril de 1939. Sus padres se mudaron a Lawton, Oklahoma, donde su madre falleci en 1941 cuando Lucy tena solo dos aos. Su padre, Alejo Durn, traslad a Lucy y a sus hermanas a Nebraska y luego a Wyoming para trabajar en 1952. Ms tarde, ese mismo ao, su padre las traslad a Nampa, Idaho. Lucy conoci y se cas con Jess M. Hernndez en 1955, y tuvieron ocho hijos.
Nuestra madre falleci el 7 de marzo de 2025 en su hogar debido a un evento mdico inesperado. Lucy fue precedida en muerte por su madre Adeliena, su padre Alejo, un hijo infante Stevan, sus hermanas Juanita Rodrguez, Marcelina Alonzo, Genoveva Torres, su nieto Nathan Hernndez, su hijo menor Alexander Hernndez, y su hija mayor Mary I. Corning.
Lucy es sobrevivida por sus hijos restantes: Diego Hernndez, Connie S. Garca (Jos E.), Anthony Hernndez, Francisco Hernndez y Nina Hernndez; veintin nietos, cuarenta y tres bisnietos, cuatro tataranietos y, por ltimo, pero no menos importante, su mascota Pepe Le Pew.
Nuestra madre vivi una vida plena y fue devota a Jesucristo, siempre orando por sus hijos, nietos y todos los que necesitaban oracin. Extraaremos su sonrisa, su energa y su amor incondicional por su familia. Los versculos bblicos favoritos de nuestra madre eran:
Salmos 122:1: 'Me alegr con los que me dijeron: vamos a la casa del Seor.'
Salmos 27:4: 'Una cosa le pido al Seor, y es lo nico que persigo: habitar en la casa del Seor todos los das de mi vida, para contemplar la hermosura del Seor y buscar su orientacin en su templo.'
Lucy Rita Duran was born in Laguna Seca, New Mexico, on April 29, 1939. Her parents then moved to Lawton, Oklahoma, where her mother passed away in 1941 when Lucy was just two years old. Her father, Alejo Duran, moved Lucy and her sisters to Nebraska and then to Wyoming to work in 1952. Later in the year, her father moved them to Nampa, Idaho. Lucy met and married Jesus M. Hernandez in 1955, and they had eight children.
Our mother passed away on March 7, 2025, in her home from an unexpected medical event. Lucy was preceded in death by her mother Adeliena, father Alejo, an infant son Stevan, sisters Juanita Rodriguez, Marcelina Alonzo, Genoveva Torres, grandson Nathan Hernandez, youngest son Alexander Hernandez, and oldest daughter Mary I. Corning.
Lucy is survived by her remaining children: Diego Hernandez, Connie S. Garcia (Jose E.), Anthony Hernandez, Francisco Hernandez, and Nina Hernandez; twenty-one grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and last but not least, her fur baby Pepe Le Pew.
Our mother lived a full life and was devoted to Jesus Christ, always praying over her children, grandchildren, and all who needed prayer. We will miss her smile, spunk, and her unconditional love for her family. Our mom's favorite Bible verses were:
Psalms 122:1: 'I rejoice with those who said to me, let us go to the house of the Lord.'
Psalms 27:4: 'One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.'
