Lucy Darlene Grinder April 6, 1965 – February 5, 2026
Lucy Darlene Grinder, age 60, of Bryans Road, Maryland, peacefully transitioned to Heaven on February 5, 2026, following a short but courageous battle with colon cancer.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary Oliver, and her brother, William Oliver. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 32 years, Donald Grinder, and their three beloved children: Charles Oliver Sr. (Mandy), Brittany Gilroy (Brian), and Brooke Grinder. She is also lovingly remembered by her eight treasured grandchildren: Charles Oliver Jr., Jordyn Oliver, Jessica Oliver, Aubrey Oliver, Brayden Padgett, Brooklyn Gilroy, Braxtyn Gilroy, and Brisyn Gilroy, as well as the family’s cherished cat, Camren.
Lucy is further survived by her siblings: Mary (Edna) Kellum, Clarence “Buck” Oliver Jr., and Albert “Randy” Oliver, along with a host of extended family and dear friends.
Lucy found her greatest joy in family and togetherness. She loved spending time outdoors in the sunshine, crabbing on the boat, sunbathing, camping, and enjoying quiet early mornings with a cup of coffee. A lover of the color purple, country music, and spirited games of pitch, Lucy also faithfully cheered on her Dallas Cowboys every Sunday. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious, and her heart was truly one of a kind. To know Lucy was to feel warmth, comfort, and genuine love—she was a blessing who brought smiles wherever she went.
Arrangements will be made at a later date, once the weather warms, in accordance with the family’s wishes. Lucy requested cremation, and the family respectfully asks that her wishes be honored. They also ask for privacy and grace as they take time to grieve, heal, and navigate this difficult season together.
