Lucy Lujan Guzman

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Lucy Lujan Guzman, who went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2025, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at the age of 89.
Born on June 6, 1936, in Las Cruces, Lucy was the cherished daughter of Luz Padilla and Marcos Lujan. She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Jose (Joe) Guzman, and their four children: Beatrice (Manny) Guzman, Joe Guzman, Richard Guzman, and Ray Guzman.
Lucy was a proud grandmother to Jo (Jobie) Guzman, Apryl Swainston (Jay), Marcos A. Guzman (Sadie), Marisa Aleman, Kandice Guzman, and Austin P. Wright. She treasured her eight great-grandchildren: Efren Aleman, Santana Guzman, Ezra Swainston, Ivy Aleman, Ella Swainston, Carlos Guzman, Joe Paul Guzman, and Mara Campbell Guzman. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Lorenza Lopez of California, and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Lucy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, deep devotion to La Virgen de Guadalupe, her humor, strength, and her love to dance - a joy that was contagious and made every gathering better. Her light and laughter enriched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: brothers Mike, Pablo, Santiago, and Ramon Lujan, and sisters Virginia Santana and Antonia Perez.
A funeral service will be held on November 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at La Paz-Grahams Funeral Home, 555 W. Amador Ave., Las Cruces, NM, followed by a committal service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 W. Picacho Ave., Las Cruces, NM.
