Lucy "Lulu" M. Haugh (nee Martin), 80, of Romeoville, IL, passed away peacefully at her home on April 4, 2025, surrounded by her family. Lucy and her twin brother, Michael, were born on August 17, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Michael and Lucy Martin.
She graduated from Visitation High School, then attended junior college. She worked for Air Canada. Lucy started dating Marty after he returned from the army. They were married in 1970. They lived in Villa Park for a short time then moved to West Chicago where they raised their children Wendy, Michael, and Tracy. They bought a lake house in Michigan (Chalet on the Lake) and loved spending time there. While living in West Chicago, Lucy worked for West Chicago High School, The Cenacle in Warrenville, and for the DuPage County Clerk's Office. Lucy's hobbies included reading, ceramics, playing bingo, and bowling. Lucy loved spending time with family and everyone loved her peanut butter cup bars and mashed potatoes that she would bring to parties. In their retirement years, Marty & Lucy moved to Grand Haven retirement community in Romeoville and Lucy worked for Lakewood Homes for a few years.
Lucy is preceded in death by her parents and 3 of her siblings, John "Jim," Mary, and her twin brother, Michael. She is survived by her husband, Marty, her sisters, Joanne and Bernie, her children, Wendy(Larry), Michael(Julia), and Tracy; and her 7 grandchildren: Tommy, Joey, Zach, Alyssa, Ella, Brooklyn, and Stella. Lucy was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Mary's Parish. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mercy Home for Boys and Girls would be appreciated. Lucy and Marty watched The Mercy Home televised Mass on Sunday mornings when going to church became too difficult.
