Lucia Teresa Hoholuk (Roman)

Webster: Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the age of 73. Predeceased by her husband, Jan Hoholuk, sons, Thaddeus and Stephan; her parents, Bronislaw and Wladyslawa; sisters Regina and Lila Roman; brother Edward Roman, and nephew Matthew Roman.

Lucy is survived by her sons, Richard (MaryAnn) Hoholuk, and their daughters - Lucy's beloved granddaughters, Zorianna Maria and Sophia Luciana; and Stanislaw (Suzanne) Hoholuk, and their sons, Issac, Caleb, Liam, and Jack. She is also survived by her younger brother, Richard (Danuta) Roman, and their son, Nicholas Roman; her older brother, Thaddeus (Lydia) Roman, and their children, Nadine and Lucas; her sister-in-law, Nancy Roman, and her children, Amie, Christine, Jimmy, and John; cousin Henry Jaskolski (Urszula) and their children Joanne and Robert; cousin Anna Homa (George) with their son Henry; family in Poland and cherished grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Lucy was born on March 10, 1952, in Genk Belgium in a displaced person's camp. Through the hard work and determination of her parents, her family emigrated to the United States in 1952, originally in Chicago and then relocating to Rochester.

Lucy graduated from St. Theresa's Catholic School, Bishop Kearney High School and later from Monroe Community College, where she earned her nursing degree. Lucy dedicated her career as an RN caring for others on multiple floors and units - working at Monroe Community Hospital, Rochester General Hospital, Park Ridge Hospital, and finally retiring from Hill Haven Nursing Home in 2013.

Lucy spent countless hours in her kitchen canning and preparing delicious meals made with fruits and vegetables from her own garden. She was known for her European torts. She loved music and singing, tending to her yard, and took great pride in the home she built with her husband Jan. Lucy was truly the heart of the Hoholuk family - always ensuring that everyone was safe, healthy, and cared for.

A devoted parishioner, Lucy served as a caretaker and member of the choir at St. Theresa's Church and later as a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.

Lucy put everyone's needs before her and devoted herself to prayer multiple times per day.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, November 14, from 5–8 p.m. at the Harris Funeral Home (570 Kings Highway South). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 15, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Lake Avenue. For family and friends who are unable to attend in person, the Funeral Mass will be livestreamed* from the church so that all who loved Lucy may join in prayer and remembrance from afar.
