Lucy Williams Hunter departed this life on Wednesday November 5, 2025 at her home in Erie, PA. Born on November 27, 1923 in Luray, VA to the late Edward and Mamie Twyman Williams, she was one of twelve children. Lucy attended the historic Andrew Jackson School (named for African American businessman and (shopkeeper) and excelled in all subjects. Young Lucy left VA. at an early age and began a new life in Erie, PA. where she graduated from Strong Vincent High School. She was the contemporary of 23 presidential administrations.

From Luray to settling in Erie, PA, she would marry Elijah L. Lee from Livingston, Alabama and from this union, five children were born. She would later marry William Hunter and from that union, one son was born. Later in life she gave birth to a daughter.

She worked for many years as a home service professional and always maintained a safe, loving, and clean home for her children. She received numerous commendations for the services that she gave to her church, community and especially from her home birthplace.

Her great love was being a long-standing member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she was in the Culinary Ministry serving meals for many occasions and shall be remembered for her contributions to preparing church dinners. She also was part of the missionary ministry, the church decoration committee, and the bereavement committee. She was a lifetime member of the NAACP, she voted at every election both local and national level, she was featured on the local news channel and NBC's Today Show when she turned 100 yrs. old, she was presented with a letter of celebration from the Office of President Barack and Michelle Obama when she turned 101 yrs. old.

Most recently she received recognition's from the following, the Andrew Jackson School Museum, for being a contributor and member of the Luray, VA community, The New York, Pennsylvania and New England States Council of the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith International, Inc, the Evangelism and Outreach Auxiliary Department and also the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Washington, PA who recognized her as a loyal supporter of her son Rev. James A.Lee, as he preached by dialing into the FreeConferenceCall.Com. Family was very important to her and she worked diligently for years to care for her children, keeping them clean and fed, encouraging their education, and supporting their pursuits. She was an avid sports viewer and loved Tennis and knew all the players and upcoming matches.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents: three brothers: Jacob Thomas, Robert Williams, and Franklin Williams: eight sisters: Margaret King, Mildred Bundy, Thelma Richburg, Ann Whitley, Eleanor Madison, Ada Broaddus, Virginia Foster, and Caroline Williams: one daughter: Margaret A. Davis, and two sons Mitchell G. Lee, Douglas E. Lee, grandson John E. Davis, Jr., and granddaughter Chantel Fogg. She is survived by her much loving and devoted family – four children: Rev, James A. Lee of Pittsburgh (PA), Constance M. Ratcliff (Elder Tony Ratcliff, Jr.) of Erie PA, Clark W. Hunter of New Cumberland (PA),and Joann Sharper (Rodney) of Farrell (PA): fourteen grandchildren: Shanell M. Lee, James A. Lee II, Theresa M. Davis, Pamela Davis, Carla Moffett, Jaci Davis, Antowan D. Lee, Alisha Tucker, Nate D. Villers, Kristin Bridgeman, Ja'Kendra Langford, Jazhmine Phillips, Jaylan Sharper, Jarrissa Sharper and a host of great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She has two very special bonus sons, Thomas L. Lee and his children, Michele and Elijah and Timothy J. Lee. She is also survived by special nieces, Mary Ann Brookings, Karen Morgan and Judy Bundy. Her special nephews are Donald Whitley, Frederick Richburg, and Robert and Kenneth King, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

Mother was loved and will be greatly missed by many. We shall see you on the other side and may you rejoice in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
