Lucy Mitchell Obituary

NEWMARKET – Lucy Mitchell formerly of Newmarket passed away on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at the Dover Center for Health and Rehabilitation.

When you think of your life the person who comes to mind to so many of us is our mother. So many of us have memories of our Mothers that will always be with us. I lost my mom to COVID at 98 years old but I will never forget the memories and how much she loved me and her family. She gave us all unconditional love and taught us that family is everything.

My mother was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Durham, N.H. She helped my grandmother who was a widow at 40 maintain a home for the three of us. Mom worked so hard her entire life. When she was in her 40s she met Wally and they had a great life together. When he died at 61 her heart was broken. I remember for many years she would say how much she missed him. Her entire life was centered around me and my four children. The love she gave to us never wavered. She also was Gram to so many of her grandchildren's friends.

When you read this obituary about Lucy Mitchell say a prayer for her and all the Mother's and Grandmother's who have impacted your life.

Lucy is remembered by her daughter Jean and her husband Al, her grandchildren Pat and his wife June, Pam and her partner Richard, Jerry and his wife Jayne and Sue. She had four great grandchildren Kate, David, Joey and Katherine. Also two great great grandchildren Sam and Mabel. Also nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date.

Lucy had an infectious smile, always a little twinkle of mischief in her bright eyes. I loved her vigor for life. She loved to tell a joke or two and never missed a chance to start a lively conversation. I will miss seeing her as I have for this past year.
To her loving family I offer my deepest condolences.
God Bless,
Linda Williams, Elsie’s daughter

I worked with Lucy at the old KW. She was the life of the party. A person I could never forget. The phrase f.i.s.i. always made me laugh. R.I.P Lucy. Mary and I are thinking of you Pat and family.

Dear Jean and family,
My heart hurts over the loss of your very dear mother! She was always so kind, loving and fun. My daughters and I loved as many many others did. I have a granddaughter named after Aunt Lucy. My Lucy is also sweet, kind and very loving and loveable as Aunt Lucy was. I just wish they could have met. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow!
