Barbara Agenes (Wojcik) Ryan

Barbara Agenes (Wojcik) Ryan, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Warde Senior Living in Windham, NH. She was the widow of the late John Francis Ryan, who passed away in 1987.

Barbara was born on October 1, 1930, in Newmarket, NH, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alexandra (Parzyck) Wojcik. At the age of six, her family relocated to Lowell, MA, where she attended St. Stanislaus School before graduating from Lowell High School with the Class of 1948. At Lowell High, she was a Girl Officer and a member of the National Honor Society.

In her younger years, Barbara worked at Megowen Educator until her marriage, after which she served as a social worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at Tewksbury State Hospital until her retirement in 1989.

A devoted Catholic, Barbara's faith in God was the cornerstone of her life, carrying her through both joyful and difficult times. She was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church, the Immaculate Conception Church, and St. Kathryn Parish in Hudson, NH, and she was an avid viewer of daily Mass on Catholic television.

Barbara was fiercely independent and remained active throughout her life. She loved her long daily walks and cherished quiet time with a good book.

Surviving Barbara are her grandchildren: Christopher Ryan and his wife, Kelly, of Concord; Kathryn (Ryan) Andjus and her husband, Matthew, of Westford; Erica DaCosta and her husband, Brian Harper, of Charlotte, NC; Stephanie (DaCosta) Naylor and her husband, Ken, of Londonderry, NH; and John Ryan and his wife, Jillian, of Hudson. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Kelly Ryan, and son-in-law, Anthony DaCosta; ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her children, the late Kenneth J. Ryan and Mary-Gail DaCosta; and her siblings, the late Helen Sakalinski, Joseph Wojick, Walter Wojick, Chester Wojick, William Wojick, Stanley Wojcik, Theresa Plante, and Laura Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled.

Her funeral service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the McDonough Funeal Home, www.McDonoughFuneralHome.com
