Stephen Noyes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McDonough Funeral Home on Mar. 2, 2026.
Stephen A. Noyes, 55, a lifelong resident of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side after a hard fought battle with renal failure.

Son of the late Robert C. Noyes and Patricia (McKenney) Noyes of Lowell, Steve was born on October 29, 1970 and raised and educated in Lowell. In the years following high school, Steve proudly served his country in the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge. Following his military service, he worked as a lineman with the phone company before continuing his career in union construction.

Steve was an exceptional cook and loved to prepare meals for his family and friends. Always excited to try a new recipe, his personal touches and the love he poured into the preparation are what made every dish uniquely his own. He loved the outdoors and found his greatest peace in nature - hunting, fishing and spending time in the places he cherished most, especially Plum Island and Maine.

Steve never met a stranger. To know him was to love him and he could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was incredibly kind hearted and it was impossible not to be drawn to his warmth. Even a brief conversation left you feeling like you'd made a lifelong friend. He was an unforgettable individual who left an indelible impression wherever he was.

Family meant everything to Steve. Besides his mother, Patricia, he is survived by his son, Evan Noyes of Westborough, Massachusetts. Becoming a father was the highlight of Steve's life and Evan could not have made him more proud. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved endlessly, and by his loving partner Patricia Rodwell of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts with whom he shared his life for the past 15 years as well as her children, Joseph Rodwell, Brittany Schnaars and her husband Andrew, Ricky Marcotte, Sarah Marcotte, Hannah Marcotte, and Thomas Marcotte who all considered Steve a father and whom he loved as his own. Most recently, he treasured his role of grandfather to Grant Schnaars and eagerly awaited the arrival of his granddaughter, Georgia Schnaars.

Steve was extremely caring; when someone was in need, he didn't hesitate to step up and help in any way he could. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to please consider performing an act of kindness for a neighbor, loved one, or a stranger, in Steve's name.

On Friday, March 6, all are welcome to attend his visitation from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. and his funeral service which will follow at 12 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
