Lucy Elaine Potts

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucy Elaine Potts, who left this world on September 19, 2025, at the age of 58. Lucy was born on August 27, 1967, in Virginia, but she found her home in Gastonia, North Carolina, where she touched the lives of those around her.
Lucy's true passion was in her family and the simple joys of life. She loved to gather her loved ones for family time, whip up delicious meals in the kitchen, and play cards, where her laughter and competitive spirit always brought excitement to the table. Her love for movies also provided her with countless hours of joy, sharing her favorites with family and friends.
Lucy is survived by her beloved daughters, Tara Potts and Kandace Potts (Budda Torres), her son, Stephen Potts, grandchildren, Bryant Eagle, Cindy Cascell, and Marina Torres, great grandson, Isaiah Martinez, sister, Barbara Looper (Chip), many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, as her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on our hearts.
In honoring Lucy's memory, a private memorial service will be held by the family.
Rest in peace, Lucy. Your spirit will live on in our memories and hearts.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Barbara Jones, brothers, Jimmy Jones, Tad Jones, and David Jones, husband, Teddy Potts.
