Lue Raney Decker

Lue Raney (Duff) Decker, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on October 22, 2025, her husband and her two children at her side. She died peacefully in her sleep.
Raney was an amazing woman.
She was bright and intelligent. She had a heart for children. She ran a small business operating a day care, and she taught school. She loved children and they loved her. A devout Christian and active in her church, she was a Sunday school teacher, affectionately called "Miss Raney" by the children. She was a loving and devoted wife and mom, and a doting nana to her two grandsons.
Raney lived her life with love and grace.
She was everybody's cheerleader, easy to love and hard not to. She took an interest in the people she met. She listened. She wanted to know you. She wanted to be your friend. She was always grateful, always looking for the good in others, always ready with an encouraging word, always ready to lend a helping hand, always ready and willing to pray for or with you. She led a full and rich life, and her love and kindness touched the lives of many people.
Beloved by her family and friends, she will be deeply missed.
Raney is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jim Decker; by her son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Kimby Decker; by her daughter, Sarah Sellards; by her grandsons, Noah Sellards and Forest Decker; and by her sister, Patricia Ralston. Raney is also survived by an aunt, by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and by numerous friends.
Raney was preceded in death by her parents, Troy Duff Sr. and Dorothy Jewell Duff, and by her brothers Troy Duff Jr. and Sam Duff, and by a special aunt and uncle, Agnes and Lloyd Duff.
Raney's funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, 601 East Brannon Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356 (859-237-7226) beginning at 12:00 P.M., with a gathering and refreshments immediately afterward. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M.
A committal service will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, 6980 Danville Road, Nicholasville, KY 40356 the next day, Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.
