On December 24, 1932, God sent one of His angels, Luevenia B. Scott, to be born in Alma, AL. from the union of Rose Ella Boykin-Walker and Calvin Robinson, Sr. She was reared in a large loving family and enjoyed an adoring relationship with all her siblings and cousins. She committed her life to Christ at an early age and continued in His service all her life.
Luevenia met and fell in love with entrepreneur and businessman, Arnold James Scott, Sr. The two relocated to Mobile, Alabama where they built a family together. After raising her children, she returned to school and completed her Associate of Science degree and began a career as a librarian at Bishop State Community College. After 24 years, she retired and spent the remainder of her life in devotion to her family by supporting them whenever needed, providing a listening ear, Godly advice, and prayers that availed much.
Mama found pleasure in the simplest things in life such as cooking, gardening, telling stories about her youth, and enjoying family gatherings. During most elections, she assisted in registering citizens to vote and working the polls. This brought her great joy. Mama was an avid reader with a robust library. She shared her passion for reading with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. She was a quiet but powerful soul who was loved by everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold James Scott, Sr. and daughter, Thelma L. Scott. She leaves to cherish her memories six children: Arnold James Scott, Jr., Patricia (Roosevelt, deceased) Jones, Wade (Jaki) Scott, Reginald (Miriam) Scott, Richard (Cynthia) Scott, and Edward L. Scott; Sixteen grandchildren: Latasha Wallace, Keva Scott, Joenika Scott, Francesca (Tavial) Morton, Brian (LaKea) Scott, Ericka (Albert) Moreno, Dolly Jones, Justin Scott, Cory (Ivonza) Penn, Roosevelt (Kathy) Jones III, Jillian Scott, Richard Kyle Scott, Joy Scott, Ajai Scott, Denzel Scott, and Reginald (Amber) King; Ten Great-grandchildren: Santedra (Henry) Jackson, Terriell (Shanice) Wallace, Hannah Beamon, Jayda Moreno, Alyssa Moreno, Kori Bell Penn, Caleb Penn, Roosevelt Jones IV, Cameron Jones, and Takara Moore; Five Great-great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Jackson, Terriell Wallace, Carson Jackson, Nia Wallace, and Cherish Carson. Additionally, a loving sister Vicy Mae Scott, three caring sisters-in-law Catherine Boykin, Carzetta Scott, Velma Primm, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
