Luis H. Araujo

Luis H. Araujo, 89, of Manalapan, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Luis later immigrated to the United States about 60 years ago, where he built a life rooted in dedication, family, and hard work.
Prior to his retirement, Luis enjoyed a successful career as a banker with JP Morgan Chase Bank in Manhattan. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who found great joy in spending time with those he loved. Luis had a passion for electronics, home videos, music, and watching his grandchildren in their various activities. In his spare time could often be found stargazing, pursuits that brought him both happiness and fulfillment.
Luis was predeceased by his beloved parents, Luis and Fructuosa Araujo; and his brothers, Walter Araujo, Ivan Tola, Julio Tola, Jose Tola, and Johnny Tola. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gladys Araujo; his son, Luis Araujo (Hilary); his daughters, Elena Araujo (Daniel) and Alexandria Lavin (Tim); his sister, Maria Berrios; and his brother, Francisco Tola. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Marlee, Devin, Amanda, Matthew, Joanna, Allison, and Timothy; as well as his beloved great-grandchild, Alexandria Lavin Mazzilli.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Sunday, December 21, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM, at Freeman Manalapan–Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Route 9 North, Manalapan, NJ. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Englishtown, NJ. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery in Manalapan, NJ.
