Luis ‘Tito’ Chicas, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on 6/11/2025 at the age of 39. Born in Los Angeles, CA, and raised in El Paso, TX, Tito was known for his big heart, contagious laugh, and the way he made everyone feel like family. To those who knew him, Tito was more than a friend; he was a brother and a constant presence of light and humor. Tito had a lifelong love for music, the kind that wasn’t just about sound – it was about connection. Whether bumping underground hip-hop or shutting down his favorite karaoke bars, to sending his friends songs that said what words couldn’t, or quoting his favorite bars mid-convo, music was his language.
He lived with the curiosity of a kid and the heart of Viejo, who’d seen it all. Tito repped his roots hard – L.A. ran through his veins, but El Paso was stamped on his soul. He carried both with pride and was an unmistakable part of who he was. Bringing people together was second nature to him – friends became family, and carving out a space for you in his world was always his focus. He had this way of making you laugh so hard one moment, then flip the script into a deep, real conversation when you least expected it. Tito made every moment unforgettable and somehow always exactly what you needed.
He is survived by his mother, Dora Gomez; father, Luis Chicas Sr.; brother, Carlos; and sisters, Veronica, Roxana, and Jennis, as well as countless friends who will carry his memory with them forever. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Celebration of Life starting at 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home - Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907.
Tito, thank you for the love, the laughs, and the memories. We love you, brother. Rest easy.
