Obituary of Luis De Dios Hernandez
Luis De Dios Hernandez, age 84, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on August 19th, 2022. He was born on December 10, 1937 to Juan De Dios and Sista Hernandez in Banquete, Texas. Luis, also known as Palas to many, spent most of his time doing things he loved like finding the best yard sales and flipping cars. He often offered many people like friends and family, all of the things he would find or renovate. This just shows a fraction of his character. Even though he was loving and kind hearted, he also was a jokester. He was always making the people around him laugh or cry from laughing so hard. He was quite the character and that s what the family will miss the most.
Even with the biggest family, his most prize possession was the love of his life Maria V Hernandez, who have been together for 66 years meeting in 1955. His love of yard sailing stemmed from Maria s love for it as well. If they weren t yard sailing, they were always joking around or dancing, one of their favorite things to do.
He is survived by his wife Maria V Hernandez and his children: Yolanda Valdez, Nancy Hernandez Cuevas (Gabriel), Rey Hernandez, Maria Gorda Hernandez, Gloria Neny Hernandez; 20 grandchildren, roughly 62 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Luis was preceded in death by his parents Luis and Sista Hernandez, his son Luis Jr. Muca Hernandez, and his daughter Sista Hernandez. As well as 7 grand-babies.
A message from the family Our hearts are comforted in knowing that he has been healed and reunited with his loved ones. A funeral will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel on Monday, the 29th of August at 5-8 in the evening; rosary recital will begin at 7:00pm. As well as a burial at Canyon Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, the 30th of August at 10 in the morning.
