Luis Franco Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 3, 2012.
Luis David Franco Moyano (aka, David) leaves a loving circle of family and friends. David was born on September 24, 1935 in Pisco, Peru before embarking on a lifelong adventure to the United States. He arrived in San Francisco, CA in 1960 on a professional soccer contract with Club Peru de San Francisco. Several years after his arrival to the States he returned to Lima, Peru to wed his lifelong love, Olga M. Ruiz on April 2, 1965. That same year, both husband and wife traveled back to San Francisco and in 1967, gave birth to son Luis Jr and in 1970 daughter, Elizabeth. Throughout the mid/late 60's and 70's, David focused his professional efforts as an auto-painter for various US/European car manufacturers. In 1979, David and the rest of the Franco family moved back to Lima to connect with their Peruvian roots - it was an exciting 4 years after which the family returned to the States to further his children's education. After a period of time in Daly City, David and the family moved to Fremont, CA. In the late 80's, David's goddaughter, Lorena Del Hierro, moved to the States and was warmly embraced by the Franco family to become like a second daughter. In 1999, David became the proud grandparent of Samantha Nicole and later in 2001, Ethan Ryan was born. In addition, Lorena blessed David with two beautiful granddaughters, Bianca Gabriela and Arianna Isabella. In 2006, David and Olga re-located to San Diego to be closer to their children and grandchildren. His later years were devoted to his family, traveling (via non-airline means...given his fear of flying) and his favorite pastime, watching soccer from any and all parts of the world (especially that of his favorite soccer player; grandchild; Ethan). Unexpectedly, his time passed on Tuesday, July 3. With heavy hearts, his surviving family will continue to endure knowing his spirit is watching down upon them.
