Luis Carlos Heise, born on August 5, 1940 to Luis Florencio Heise and Edith Lindsay Howard, in Iquique, Chile, returned to his Heavenly Father peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the age of 83, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

 Luis spoke often of his native country of Chile; its beauty and the mountains he used to climb. He always dreamed of visiting them again. He had a deep love for the outdoors, and especially enjoyed being in the mountains. He loved riding motorcycles and four wheelers with his kids and grandchildren.

 Luis moved to California where he discovered and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. While in California, he also met and married his forever sweetheart Edelmira Candelaria Estrada. They were married on November 4, 1979. They were sealed as an eternal family on June 25, 1983. Luis was a spiritual giant, especially in his later years. His love of the gospel was contagious, and he would share it with anyone who would listen.

 His wife and children were his whole world. Luis worked hard to make sure his children had every opportunity as they grew up. He loved coaching their teams and showing up to their events. Family was the most important thing to him and he made sure his children, and now grandchildren knew that.

 We will forever miss our papa, and abuelo. But his happiness and the lessons he taught us will live on.

 Luis is preceded in death by his mother and father, and his daughters Barbara Linda, and Ingaborg Kay. Luis is survived by his wife Edelmira Heise, 7 sons: Christian (Carolina) Javier Heise Vasquez, Gregor Heise, Luis (Emily) Heise, Juan (Shealee) Heise, Julio (Kortnee) Heise, Edgar (Angelina) Heise, Byron (McKenna) Heise and 2 daughters: Islay (Spencer) Brown, Helida (Demetri) Miranda.

 Goodbye is not forever;
 Goodbye is not the end;
 It simply means I’ll miss you,
 Until we meet again.
