Our dear Lujo.
What a wonderful man he was...
My first meeting with Luis was a joint family lunch in Downtown. At that time, my nephew Tibor and his wife Tasi were engaged and just planning their wedding.
Meeting Luis and talking to him was very easy and spontaneous, as if we had known each other for years.
He knew how to joke, laugh and also give life advice. He was very quiet, smart, humble and unobtrusive.
Since then, Luis was more like a good friend to me, for whom I had huge respect. He kept his family together, took care of them and raised his children to be good people, successful, and quiet and humble like he was. He passed those values on to them.
Later we met at a wedding in beautiful San Miguel de Allende and hung out for a few days before and after wedding ceremony. Everything was like a beautiful dream.
I will be sorry for the rest of my life, because I didn't see him the last time when he went to the ER and never came back. Rest in peace and rest my good friend.

Querido amigo te me adelantaste.

The first time I met Luis was September 1979. I just started at DePaul and was traveling to our first Club Soccer Game. We never met at practice. We actually met on the field. We shook hands just before the game started. I was completely out of my element. Did not know anyone. Did not know the caliber of play. Luis' response - "Don't worry about it...!" I hope you heard his voice say it, because he said it alot.
