Es con gran tristeza que la familia de Luis Ortega anuncia su fallecimiento el 15 de octubre de 2025,  en Sulphur Springs, Tx. Miembro querido de la comunidad de Mineola, Luis partió en paz después de una vida llena de amor, dedicación.

Luis nació el 11 de mayo de 1955 en Hueymatla, Guerrero, México, de los difuntos Galdino y Reyna Ortega. Luis, fue un padre confiable y amoroso que valoraba a su familia por encima de todo. Durante 15 años se dedicó a su trabajo en el Centro de Distribución de Lowes en Mt. Vernon, y 20 anos en American Recreation en mineola siendo ejemplo de esfuerzo y honestidad.

Luis disfrutaba de una vida sencilla y tranquila, pasando momentos preciados con su familia y cuidando de sus animales, lo que le proporcionaba una inmensa alegría.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres y su hermana, Verónica Miranda. Deja atrás a una familia amorosa que lo extrañará profundamente: sus hijos Eric Ortega y su esposa Rocio Lira, Fernando Ortega y su esposa Jamie; su hija Shelly Galván; su hija Elizabeth Chávez y su esposo Juan; sus hermanos Crisino Ortega, Robert Ortega, sus hermanas Narci Ortega, Queta Gutiérrez, Minerva Martínez,  Maribel Ortega Alvarado. Luis también deja nueve nietos que continuarán con su legado.

La amabilidad, y el  espíritu gentil de Luis serán profundamente extrañados por todos los que lo conocieron. Su legado de amor y devoción vivirán en los corazones de su familia y amigos.


It is with great sorrow that the family of Luis Ortega announces his passing on October 15, 2025. A longtime and beloved member of the Mineola community, Luis peacefully departed after a life filled with love, dedication, and quiet service.

Luis was born on May 11, 1955, in Hueymatla, Guerrero, Mexico, to the late Galdino and Reyna Ortega. He was a dependable and loving father who cherished his family above all else. For 15 years, he dedicated himself to his work at the Lowes Distribution Center in Mt. Vernon, 20 years in Mineola Recreation, exemplifying hard work and integrity.

Luis enjoyed a simple, peaceful life-spending cherished moments with his family and tending to his animals, which brought him immense joy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Veronica Miranda.

He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly: his sons Eric Ortega and wife Rocio Lira, Fernando Ortega and wife Jamie; his daughter Shelly Galvan; his daughter Elizabeth Chavez and husband Juan; his brothers Crisino Ortega, Robert Ortega; his sisters Narci Ortega, Queta Gutierrez , Minerva Martinez, and Maribel Ortega Alvarado. Luis is also survived by nine grandchildren who will carry his memory forward.

Luis's kindness, dependability, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
