Luis Andre Pellicano, 58, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Luis grew up with his loving parents Celeste and Sylvio Pellicano and his sister Cristiane Pellicano. He is also survived by his in-laws Walkiria and Roberto Cuenca, Denis Cuenca (brother-in-law), Patricia Cuenca (sister-in-law), Pedro Pellicano (nephew), and Luiza Cuenca (niece).
Luis earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's in Information Systems from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado. His passion for IT Architecture fueled a remarkable career at DuPont (Brazil and DE), AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals (DE), Lincoln Financial (PA), Vertex Pharmaceuticals (MA), and IQVIA (MA). Among his proudest professional achievements were developing a bar code reader in the early 1990s and pioneering DuPont's first global eCommerce application-a venture that brought him and his pregnant wife, Debora Pellicano, to the United States in 2000.
Luis and Debora met in Brazil and shared over 30 years of inseparable, loving marriage. Together, they created a beautiful life, rich with love and family. As a devoted father to Laura Pellicano, Luis cherished every moment spent with her-from ballet recitals to volleyball games, to collaborating on her college coding projects. He was Laura's greatest champion and biggest cheerleader. Together, Luis and his family loved traveling, sharing meals, walking on the beach, having heartfelt conversations, and visiting family in Brazil. Luis also adored his canine companion, Lucky, who became his little shadow over the years.
Luis' infectious kindness and gregarious nature made him easy to be around. He would always have a silly joke to share and anyone that spent any time with him would walk away with one of his "useless factoids" as he used to say.
In his leisure time, Luis enjoyed volunteering and attending the annual conference for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) and supporting other causes that brought him immense amounts of joy.
Luis leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and unforgettable memories that will live on in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation in honor of Luis Andre Pellicano.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Wellesley Village Church - 2 Central Street, Wellesley, MA

My sincere condolences to the Pellicano family. You were so welcoming and loving when our family attended our first NAAF conference back in 2019 in Seattle, and we quickly connected, as we shared the same Brazilian background. May your saudades and happy memories bring you peace and comfort in these difficult times.

My sincere condolences to the Pellicano family, of course especially for Debora and Laura. While I did not know Luis well, I could tell from my few interactions that he was a wonderful person, kind, caring, bright and full of life. I am so sorry to hear this news. I will say a prayer for the family in the weeks and months ahead in Luis' memory. God Bless the Pellicano family.
