Lula Bell Beard Taylor, age 78, a resident of Primm Springs, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 21, 2026, at Tristar Horizon in Dickson.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Jay Logan officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Carlisle Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 17, 1947, in Williamson County, Tennessee, Lula Bell was the daughter of the late Roosevelt Beard and the late Ernestine McCandless Beard. On December 31, 1967, she married the love of her life, Willard Carl Taylor, who preceded her in death on August 31, 2020. Lula Bell worked for forty-five years at Apcom in Franklin before retiring, and she was a member of Bending Chestnut Baptist Church.
Lula Bell was known for her warm heart and her love of feeding others…no one ever left her home hungry. She enjoyed simple pleasures like going to yard sales and spending quiet moments working crossword puzzles. Above all, she loved her family deeply and unconditionally. She treated her daughters-in-law as though they were her own, and her kindness and steady presence will be missed or remembered always.
She is survived by her children, Melissa “Lisa” Arnold of Chapmansboro, TN, David “Bubba” (Patsy) Taylor of Primm Springs, TN, Marty (Priscilla) Taylor of Primm Springs, TN, Chris (Misty) Taylor of Primm Springs, TN, brothers, Raleigh McCandless, Tommy Lee (Jewel) McCandless, sister, Lucille (Wayne) Griggs, grandchildren, Bobby (Kara) Rutland, Billy (Brandy) Rutland, Jeremy Taylor, Jason Taylor, Amber Taylor, Heather Collins, Robert Campbell, Kerrie Campbell, Hailey (Nathan) Waller, Joseph Ivey, Lexi Arnold, Jacob Arnold, bonus grandchildren, Sarah and Carson Netherton, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son in law, Michael Arnold, grandson, Blake Taylor, and siblings, Mike Beard, Wesley Beard, James Roosevelt “Snake” Beard, and Clara Mae Roberts.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Rutland, Billy Rutland, Jason Taylor, Ronnie McCandless, and Joey McCandless.
