Lurine Wright was born on August 28, 1936 to parents Maggie Lee Davis and Hampton Calvin in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
She attended St. Mary's Catholic School and Bowman High School in Vicksburg, MS,
Lurine moved to New York City at the age of 16 where she furthered her education at The College of New Rochelle where she later graduated.
Lurine met and married Morris Charles Wright.
Lurine worked as an overseas operator for AT&T and in later years worked for the Department of Aging.
Lurine was a devoted member of Greater Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY.
For a great majority of her adult life Lurine resided in New York City where she raised her children as well as some of her grandchildren.
She was a great humanitarian feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless.
Being an amazing cook, folks traveled for miles to get a taste of her delicious food. She was a great entertainer and she loved to dance and have a great time. She loved high fashion and could give the ladies the best press and curl.
At some point Lurine relocated to Schenectady, New York where she lived for over 20 years until her passing.
Lurine leaves to cherish her memory:

Siblings; Liz(Illinois) Delores(Connecticut) Rosie(Mississippi)
Previously Departed: Lubertha, Emma, Frankie Jean, Roosevelt, Sidney Mae,Henry, Johnny

Lurine Wright's Family would like to to extend a special dedication and gratitude to Cheryl Jonell Page for her tireless phenomenal work toward all of Lurine's needs and challenges for the past 20 plus years.
