ROTTERDAM – Paula A. DeGasperis, 78, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Ellis Hospital.
Paula was born in Saratoga Springs, the daughter of the late Chris and Angelina Scappalura Andreakris. She was a graduate of Saratoga High School and Fulton-Montgomery Community College.
Paula began her professional career with Travelers Insurance and later went on to a long and successful career with United Healthcare on Wolf Road.
A devoted wife and loving mother, Paula found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid QVC shopper, a loyal Denver Broncos fan, and a talented crocheter. Through her gift of crocheting, Paula lovingly made baby outfits for Birthright of Schenectady, providing comfort and care to families in need.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Joseph DeGasperis.
Paula is survived by her loving twin daughters, Denise DeGasperis, of Valatie, and Debra (William) Saburro, of Schenectady; grandchildren, Joseph Sutter, Danielle Carrigan, Brandon Saburro, Jennifer (Matthew) Winkler; sister, Michelle (Phil) Natale; a brother-in-law, Robert (Kathy) DeGasperis; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 pm at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. Cyril & Method Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Paula’s memory to Birthright of Schenectady at birthright.org/Schenectady.
