Luther "Luke" Jones, 78, passed away from pancreatic cancer on January 25, 2024, in Natchitoches, LA. He was a long-time resident of Northport, AL.
Luke's passion in life was music. As a talented musician, he played steel guitar, bass, acoustic guitar, and sang vocals. He, along with other family members, formed a band, and for many years, played at parties, clubs, Moose Lodges, and of course, their family reunions.
Luke was also very proud to have served his country in the Army. During his time in service, he was deployed to Germany, and often recounted the stories of his time there.
Luke is survived by Ann Abagatnan - Jones - spouse, Bonnie Thompson - former spouse, along with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Chris (Kellie) Jones - son, Sandy (Pratt) Ray - daughter, Tiffanie Mitchell - granddaughter, Dustin Jones - grandson, Courtney Schmidt - granddaughter, Louis Rollins - grandson, Morgan Sarah - granddaughter, Seth Jones - grandson, Joshua Ray - grandson, Kai Luke Jones - grandson, Annabeth Schmidt - great-granddaughter, Eli Mitchell - great-grandson, Emmersyn Mitchell - great-granddaughter.
Luke was also survived by siblings Nancy Lauw, Della Dueitt, Robert Jones, Devon Jones, and Debby Cagle.
Luke is preceded in death by Luther E. Jones - father, Rosie Herrington - mother, Robert "Robbie" Jones - son, Milton Jones - brother, Gene Jones - brother, Brad Jones - brother.
The memorial service for Mr. Luther Jones will be held on Sunday, January 28, at 2:00 PM at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
