Luz Lantigua Grullon entered into rest on November 16, 2023 at her Inwood apartment where she resided for over 40 years. With family and friends by her side during her final moments, she passed surrounded by love at home, just as she wanted.
Luz was born in Moca, Dominican Republic on February 2, 1938. She immigrated to the United States on July 12, 1971 to unite her three children. Senora Lucy was a beloved member in her community, known for her kindness,unwavering support and her friendly smile with her signature red lipstick. To her family, she was everything. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she will be missed dearly by all she touched with her love and warmth.
Her family will be present to receive friends on Monday, November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st, from 4-8 pm at the Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway, New York, NY, 10034. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 22nd, 10 am, at Church of The Good Shepherd, 4967 Broadway, New York, NY 10034, followed by the burial.
