Luz Martinez

Luz Marina Martinez, beloved mother, abuela, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Three Kings Day, at the age of 68.

Born on September 25, 1957, in Granada, Nicaragua, Luz was the cherished daughter of Gilberto and Marina Garcia. She grew up with a deep Catholic faith and centered her life on her family and her religion. Her kindness, resilience, and desire to live her life to the fullest shaped the way she lived and loved.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Martinez, their four children, along with their spouses and nine grandchildren, as well as her parents, siblings and many cousins, nieces, nephews and close family members who will forever treasure her life and dance lessons, traditions and her love of welcoming celebrations in her home.

A celebration of life and mass will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Epiphany Catholic Church, 8080 SW 54th Ct, Miami, FL. 33143 at 12:00pm. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor her memory.
