Lydia J. Barczykowski

1958 - 2021

Lydia J. (Fotheringham) Barczykowski, 63, of Tarentum, passed away peacefully at home, with her family at her side, Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021. She was born May 8, 1958, in Natrona Heights, a daughter of the late Robert M. and Doris (Negley) Fotheringham. Lydia was a 1976 graduate of Highlands High School. Lydia was generous and loving. She was an advocate for children, working for Head Start for many years. Lydia loved her family and friends, especially her two crazy dogs, who were basically her kids. Those who truly knew Lydia knew that she had a great (and sometimes a little wicked) sense of humor. She was a big flirt to everybody and was the strongest person and best mother a person could ever ask for. Lydia enjoyed gardening. Lydia is survived by her children, Danielle M. (Tony) Sgambati, of Harmarville, and Mitchell Barczykowski (Erica Higgs), of Natrona Heights; her siblings, Robert (Patty) Fotheringham, David (Debbie) Fotheringham, Mark Fotheringham (Mary Jane), Claudia (Randy) Hoak, Paul (Vickie) Fotheringham and Althea Goldie; her father-in-law, Ronald Barczykowski; and by her dogs, Hugo and Desmond. In addition to her parents, Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen M. Barczykowski, on Sept. 2, 2019; and by her son, Justin M. Barczykowski. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, 724-224-8688. Burial will be private.
