Survived by her companion, Paul Collins, three sons, Julius (Christal) Brown, Donald (Jennifer) Gibson, Wallace (Chole) Gibson all of Salyersville, Kentucky, one daughter, Besty Risner of Salyersville, Kentucky, four brothers, Dudley Nickels, Abe Nickels, Andrew Nickels, Jake Nickels, all of Salyersville, Kentucky, two sisters, Rella Gipson of Salyersville, Kentucky, Sylvia Smith of Michigan, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-four great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lydia Jo is preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jane Prater, three brothers, David Nickels, Larry Nickels, Robert Nickels, three sisters, Mary Cole, Ella Mae Gipson, and Pansy Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 21, 2024 from the Swampton United Baptist Church with Hershel Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery at H. B. Arnett Road, Salyersville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the church Wednesday, June 19, 2024 after 5:00 P.M., all day on Thursday, June 20, 2024, and any time prior to funeral services on Friday.
