Lydia Serrano Ramirez

Lydia Serrano Ramirez, age 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Mableton, Georgia. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, the beloved daughter of Mauro and Aurora Serrano.

In 2014, Lydia moved to Georgia to be closer to her family, beginning a new chapter of her life surrounded by loved ones. She was a devoted mother and a woman who was truly a force to be reckoned with. A fighter in every sense, Lydia overcame many adversities throughout her life, including significant health challenges, meeting each one with resilience, courage, and determination. She never said no to an adventure, embracing life boldly and on her own terms.

Lydia had a deep love for her faith and her church family. She was actively involved in The Church of Christ and cherished the fellowship of her brethren, remaining devoted and engaged for as long as her health allowed before her illness.

She is survived by her son, Guadalupe Ray Martinez; her daughter and son-in-law, Viola Serrano Alvarado and Jose Alvarado; her beloved granddaughter, Annabella Alvarado; her sister, Linda Lee Ruiz; and her aunt, Jeanie Balli. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Mary Claire, Mauro Jr., Raymond, and Arnold Serrano.

Services will be held in Mableton, Georgia, with burial to take place in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Lydia will be remembered with love, admiration, and deep respect. Her strength, adventurous spirit, and faithful heart will live on in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
