Lyle Bleeker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 7, 2025.
Lyle Bleeker passed away on January 5, 2025. He was born April 5,1930
on a farm just outside Castlewood SD. He had a wonderful childhood with 40
cousins within walking distance and surrounded by family farms. He is
survived by his 3 daughters Julie, Sherie (Mark), and Leisa. He will be
greatly missed by his grandchildren Austin (Ella), Hanna, Seth (Erika),
Emily (Jon), Lauren, Alex (Alan), Sam (Olivia), Savannah, and Taylor
(Brooke). Lyle was blessed with 5 great grandchildren Miles, Finleigh,
Kinsley, Margo and Isabelle.
Lyle was a committed and loving husband to his wife Marlene for 61 years.
They shared a full and long life together. In the later years he cared for
her with great love, kindness, and patience until she died in 2020. Lyle
loved and encouraged his daughters and greatly enjoyed spending time with
his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lyle loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He showed this by his
involvement and support of Grace Church from 1961 onward. He has been a
steady, faithful example to our family and many others.
Lyle loved so many things - traveling, volunteering, family history,
artistic endeavors, friends, singing and playing guitar, soup making,
gardening, and serving at his church. He was a talented, creative artist
and his home was full of stain glass work, carvings and furniture often made
of his favorite wood, walnut! He enjoyed his coffee outdoors every
afternoon, communing with nature and his Heavenly Father. Lyle was helpful
and generous, an intentional steward of money, dependable, handy and
hardworking. Living on a farm taught him to repair or make an item without
purchasing a thing! He greatly enjoyed his career as a talented engineer at
3M.
We remember his love and support of family and friends, his gentleness, his
thankful spirit, his patience, his genuine interest in others and his
ability to listen intently.
Although his last few years had become progressively more difficult, it
continued to be a privilege to spend time with him. He was greatly loved.
We rest in this assurance from God's word:
Yet I am always with You;
You hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with Your counsel,
and afterward You will take me into glory.
Psalms 73:23,24
