Lyle Axel Pearson of Brainerd, MN passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025. Lyle was born on November 16, 1933 to Oscar and Ida Pearson. Lyle honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1957-1959. Lyle was married to Marie Schulz on August 24, 1963 at St. Mathias Church. He spent many years working in the Merchant Marines and received his Tugboat Pilot’s license. Lyle had a softwater conditioning business, “Brainerd Servisoft.” He also drove school bus for the Brainerd School District.
Lyle’s passions were the love of boating and being on the water, fishing, and travel. He was able to visit relatives in Sweden. Lyle especially loved all the many trips to Alaska with family.
After retiring, Lyle and Marie spent years in Naples, Florida, enjoying the sunshine, visits from friends and family. Lyle loved taking the grandkids to see the ocean. Lyle would always say, “I’ve been able to live my life during the best years of America and I have traveled more than most people dream in a lifetime.” Lyle loved to share stories of his adventures and put smiles on all our faces.
Missing him dearly are: his wife, Marie Pearson; daughter, Laurie Pearson-Cashin; son-in-law, Sean Cashin; grandchildren, Ben and Clara.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ida Pearson; brothers Lloyd, Vern, Bud, Donnie, Dave.
Lyle’s family would like to thank the St. Cloud VA Hospice Center, nursing station 49 for their compassionate and quality care.
Service will be held at 11:00am on September 6th at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
