Lyle Dean Stratton

September 26, 1940 – January 1, 2026

Lyle was born on September 26, 1940, in Longmont, Colorado to Angela (Bieker) and Earl Stratton. He was the second of six children, four brothers and a sister that preceded him in death in 1946 and the age of 16 month.

Lyle attended St. John the Baptist and Longmont High School In 1958 Lyle joined the U.S. Navy. He worked as a Navy Lithographer aboard the USS Kermit Roosevelt, a career path that extended throughout the next 50 years.

In 1963 Lyle married the love of his life, Donna Tobin. They had two children, Dean Tracy in 1964 and Dawn Angela in 1965. He was an amazing and loving husband and father.

Lyle will be missed by so many for his kindness and compassion. He could light up a room with his never-ending stories. All that knew and loved him, knew he was the guy to have in your corner. He was extremely loyal.

Lyle was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Donna, his parents Earl and Angela Stratton, a sister Karen Jane, and his brother Don.

Lyle is survived by his children, son Dean Stratton (Shawna), daughter Dawn Thompson and son-in-law Danny Thompson whom he loved like a son, Four grandchildren, Jessica Jones (Brenden), Nicholas Stacy, Mitchell Stacy and Haleigh Stratton and a step grandson, Michael Thompson (Rocky Lovato).

Lyle is also survived by his brothers that meant the world to him, Gary (Sharron), Sonny (Carol Ann Wilson), and Dick (Carol), as well as eleven nieces and nephews who he loved deeply.

Lyle's service will be held Friday, January 16, 2026, at 10:00 am at Carroll-Lewellen Mortuary. A reception will follow at Twin Peaks Clubhouse, 1200 Cornell Dr., Longmont from 11:30-1:30.
