Lynda Gale Carter Brooks, 80, of Calhoun, Georgia departed this life and went to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior Sunday, October 1, 2023 at her residence while surrounded by her loving family.
Lynda was born on Aug. 19, 1943 to the late Edward Carter and Frankie Colston in Chattanooga, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Brooks and her daughter, Kelli Lynn Brooks.
Lynda attended Crane Eater Community Church, was an avid Bible reader, prayer warrior and loved the Lord with all her heart. She loved her family dearly, and was a very caring person
Lynda is survived by her sons, William (Hollie) Brooks and Joel Edward Brooks; her brothers, Larry Carter (Linda Gail), Charles Carter (Nancy) and Ricky Ownby (Vickie); sister, Joyce McCallie (Don); grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Brooks (Nikki), Jeremiah Garrett Brooks (Elizabeth), Michael Rocky Jablonowski (Jessica), and Timothy Dow Johnson, Jr.; Great grandchildren, Elijah Jacob Brooks (Taylor), Chloe Ariel Grogan (Alaska), Isaac Levi Brooks, Khylea Johnson, Emerson Brooks, Nora Beth Brooks and Scarlet Brooks. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Lynda Gale Brooks will be held Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Howard Strickland officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM in the Greenwood Cemetery, Chattanooga, TN.
The Brooks family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 12 Noon.
