Lynda Gayle Huffines

Lynda Gayle Briggs Huffines, 86, of Trinity, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at High Point Medical Center.
She was born March 18, 1938, in Havana, Cuba to William Kenneth Briggs and Virgie Lee Younts Briggs Harrington. She married Robert Hunter Huffines on September 30, 1961.
Lynda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was young-spirited and spunky with a smile that would light up a room. "Nonna" as her grandchildren called her, was a name that even the family friends would refer to her; she was grandmotherly to all. Patient, strong and resilient, she would endure the struggles of life with a positive attitude. She had a love for the Lord and was a prayer warrior, encouraging others to pray. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended the VSL Sunday School class. She took great pride in her family and was the best cook.
The best scripture to sum up her life: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind" Matthew 22:37
Left to cherish her memory: her husband, Robert "Bob" Huffines; daughter, Elissa Cox; son, Hunter Barton (Vicki); grandchildren, Caroline Owen (Caleb), Kathryn Leonard (David), Rachel Perryman (Andrew), Cameron Jones (Olivia), Bailey Trammell (Austin) and Dustin Barton; great-grandchildren, Ellie Leonard, Reece Leonard, Noah Perryman, Judah Jones, Jackson Jones, Levi Trammell, Cadence Trammell and Penelope Trammell; brother, Carl Harrington; and her nephews, Michael Tolson (Rachel) and Kevin Tolson (Laura).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Jones; stepfather, James Frank Harrington; brothers, Ray Harrington and Jimmy Harrington; sister, Bobbie Tolson and her son-in-law, Timothy Cox.
A private family memorial service will be Thursday, June 13, 2024, in the Archdale Chapel of the Wright Funerals-Cremations; 10508 N. Main St., Archdale with Pastor Mark Loy officiating.
