Lynda A. Kendy
Lynda A. Kendy passed away on March 11, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lynda was born in Providence, RI on June 14, 1943, to the late William Collins Mason, II, and the Evelyn A. (Tighe) Mason. She was also predeceased by her beloved sister Elizabeth Cloutman. Lynda earned her B.S. in nursing from Salve Regina University, Newport, RI and was a Registered Nurse. Lynda was a certified public health nurse and hospice nurse for the City of Norwalk. Lynda was also a Eucharistic Minister at St. Matthew Church and volunteer with Norwalk Junior Women's League and served as Treasurer of the Brien McMahon High School Booster Club.
Lynda is survived by her husband of nearly 56 years, Joseph S. Kendy, Jr. She is also survived by her son Joseph S. Kendy, III, and daughter Amy E. Hanson and her husband John. She was the beloved "Gram" of her five grandchildren, John T. Hanson, Jr., Cassandra Lyn Kendy, Andrea M. Kendy, Joseph S. Kendy, IV and Mackenzie L. Hanson.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, March 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, CT on Thursday, March 16, at 10:00 with a Christian burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lynda's name to St. Matthew Church.
