Our Beloved Mom, Oma, Wife, Sister, Daughter, Aunt and Friend
Lynda Kay Koehler, (Britton) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday November 30, 2025. Born August 14, 1948, Lynda had 77 wonderful years on Earth. We know that she was greeted in Heaven with open arms by her father, mother, and the love of her life, Larry Koehler.
Lynda was born in Bossier City, Louisiana. Lynda spent some of her earliest years living in Germany with her parents and big brother, George Lynn Britton Jr. while her father George Lynn Britton Sr. was stationed there. Ultimately, her father was stationed in San Antonio, and that's where their family remained.
Lynda graduated from Holmes High School and became the free spirit she always wanted to be. She was not afraid to share it either, but that's a story for another day. Lynda married Larry Koehler June 26, 1976 and they welcomed their baby boy Eric Dale Koehler in November, 1977. She recommitted herself to education later in life, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Waylon Baptist university in 2010.
Lynda absolutely loved the color purple, if it came in purple, she had to have it. Everywhere she went people would comment on her color coordinated outfits, accessories, and even her hair color. Lynda always enjoyed spending time with family, she loved to visit and tell stories. Perhaps the only thing she loved more than the color purple was her son Eric, he was the center of her universe. That is until she became an Oma. When her first grandchild, Britton was born, Lynda showed a whole new level of pride. Her pride grew with the arrival of her second grandchild, Ethan. She spent extended time in Utah helping the new parents with each arrival.
Lynda was overjoyed when Eric and Lisa moved their family to Texas. First living in the same house and then as neighbors. There was new life and energy in Larry and Lynda's home, and that was before the twins, Reagan and Riley came along in 2010. When it came to her kids or grandkids, Lynda would spare no expense, leave no detail unattended to. She has since been there for all of them and always within arms reach.
Lynda lost her husband Larry in 2018, and was surrounded with the love and comfort of her family, friends, and community. The toughest time was being sequestered to her home during COVID19, but we all know how awful that was. There was never a day since Larry's passing that Lynda didn't think about him.
Lynda was a resident of Bulverde, Texas for nearly 50 years. For the past two years she lived with Eric and Lisa and their three youngest children as well as her best friend Joan, Lisa's mom.
Lynda is survived by her son Eric and daughter in law Lisa Koehler, her brother George Lynn Britton Jr., her grandkids, Britton Noah Koehler, (fiancée Alex Chamberlain), Ethan Dale Koehler, Reagan Jessie Koehler, and Riley Ann Koehler, her niece Tracey Adams, (husband Quintin Adams, and great nephews Cameron and Tyler Adams), Nephew George Lynn Britton III, all of Larry's surviving siblings and their children and grandchildren, as well as her many friends including Janice Webb and Joan Mauger.
We want to thank everyone for the heartfelt prayers and condolences. We have truly been comforted in this delicate time of need.
A memorial service will be held in Her honor on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center (address below) from 1pm to 3pm; all who wish to attend are welcome. We will have a slideshow and spend this time sharing memories of Lynda and all we know and love about her.
