Lynda Jane Bolding Shannon, 82, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. Born on November 1, 1943, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, she grew up in Coweta as the beloved daughter of Ruby and Paul Bolding and cherished sister to her "Big Ol' Brother" Bob.

Lynda's lively spirit and determination shone brightly from an early age. At Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, she was a cheerleader, an active participant in her sorority, while earning her Bachelors Degree in Teaching.

Her life changed forever when she agreed to a blind date with Jim Shannon. It was love at first sight. In July 1966, they married and shared 59 happy years together. Their two daughters, Jennifer and Jodi, became the greatest joys of their lives.

Lynda was known for her warmth, generosity, and boundless energy. She never met a stranger and was always ready with a helping hand or heartfelt hug. A devoted choir member, she took pride in being the lone female voice among the tenors and baritones. Later in life, she discovered a passion for scuba diving, exploring the waters of Mexico and Belize with enthusiasm.

Lynda is survived by her husband, Jim Shannon; her daughters, Jodi Shannon and Jennifer Millman; her son-in-law, David Millman; and the absolute lights of her life-her grandchildren, Charlotte and John Millman.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

Lynda's favorite hymn was "It Is Well With My Soul," the words of which seem particularly fitting: When peace like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll- Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul.
