Lynda Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home - Morrisville on Dec. 18, 2025.
Lynda Smith, age 84, of Morrisville, devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Crouse Community Center with her loving family by her side. She has gone to join her loving husband Wayne, who passed June 15, 2025.
Born on November 28, 1941, Lynda was the daughter of the late Georgia (McDole) and William "Bud" Upton. Lynda graduated Morrisville-Eaton High School and made her home in Morrisville after marrying her beloved high school sweetheart, Wayne Smith, 65 years ago. Together they raised with great pride three daughters, Julie, Melissa, Karen, and grandson Jeffrey. In addition to raising her family, Lynda worked at Morrisville College Dining Hall and also provided in-home healthcare.
Before her health declined, Lynda poured her energy into her children's and grandchildren's lives - always on the go, attending their games and school events with pride. Nothing brought Lynda more joy than her husband and family. She loved to treat everyone special by spending hours in the kitchen making and baking their favorite dishes. She was a fabulous cook. She made every holiday feel like magic, filling her home with delicious meals, homemade pies, coffee cakes, cookies, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Lynda was a wonderful woman and brought joy and smiles to everyone she met through her kind spirit and eye wink. Her family meant the world to her. Her love lives on in every recipe passed down, every story retold, and every tradition carried forward. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Lynda is survived by her loving family, daughter Julie and husband Dale Crisp, daughter Melissa Pirie; grandchildren Jeffrey Smith, Kimberly (Eric) Davis, Kelly (Dana) Bradley, Dale (Joanna) Crisp, Nash Pirie, Dylan Pirie and great grandchildren; Madison, Ethan, Karlee, Kylee, Lennon, Kylo, sister Terri Stewart, brother Garry Upton, brother in-law Ronald Flinn; nieces and nephews; and cousins.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Wayne Smith, daughter, Karen Smith, son-in-law, James Pirie, parents Georgia (McDole) and William "Bud" Upton, mother and father in-law Clarence "Cub" and Eleanor (Zimmerman) Smith, brothers, Michael Upton, and Jack White, sisters-in-law, Noreen Flinn, Lois White, brothers-in-law Denman Smith, Douglas Smith and John W. Stewart.
Our family wishes to thank the Crouse Community Center Unit B Staff for taking such wonderful care of Lynda and Wayne. You are truly angels. Your kindness, love, and compassionate support has meant the world to our family.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, NY 13408 on Saturday, January 17, 2026, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
