Lynda Taylor, 84, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at SOMC. She was born October 28, 1940 in Portsmouth, to the late Roy and Juanita (Robinson) Smart. Lynda was a Case Manager for Scioto County Children's Services prior to her retirement. She loved to bowl and was a great cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Scot and Jason Taylor.
Lynda is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Taylor and Shelda Taylor, both of Portsmouth, nine grandchildren, Seth Taylor (Heather), Steelee Jordan (Chynna), Sydnee Jordan (Erica), Stefon Taylor, Shaylah Taylor, Scotlynn Taylor, Tiffany Taylor, Avery Taylor, and Conner Taylor, five great-grandchildren, Savion, Sage, Saegan, Skylee, and Seven, and a great-great-granddaughter, Kendri.
Our mother touched many lives. She exemplified kindness and empathy, always offering support and a listening ear. She made a positive impact on everyone who knew her. She will be truly remembered and missed. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts and memories of our mother. Her reach was broad and long.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family and are under the direction of Melcher Hammer Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
