Lyndis Webb Obituary

Lyndis Ann Webb

January 4, 1931 - January 3, 2026

Lyndis Ann (Lyn) Lundberg Webb died at peace and at home in Orlando, Florida on January 3, 2026, one day short of her 95th birthday. In her final weeks, she remained mentally alert, spoke with old friends and family around and the world, and slipped into her graduation to all things eternal on a quiet Saturday morning.

Lyn and her three brothers grew up in Grafton, North Dakota, a heritage of Norwegian and Swedish settlers. At 17 her eldest brother drove her from Grafton to Minneapolis to begin nursing school at Swedish Hospital. Upon graduation she and three other adventurous friend-nurse graduates headed to Montana to apply their skills. She would leave Montana a couple years later to extend her education as a Duck at the University of Oregon. There she met Dale Webb, future surgeon and life partner.

The two married and spent the next seven years in Los Angeles (birthplace of children John and Brenda), Philadelphia and Detroit - places she would continue to practice her nursing as an operating room or critical care nurse. In 1965, the couple, with children in the back of their Ford Fairlane, headed toward Dale's hometown of Yuma, Arizona. There they would raise their children, cherish their neighbors, build their friendships and invest in their community. Lyn would involve herself in PEO, Assistance League, St Paul's Episcopal Church, and HAFP (IYKYK). In 2000 she and Dale began to establish a seasonal presence along the Dolores River in Colorado as a relief from the summer heat of Yuma - a legacy that continues to be enjoyed by their ensuing generations.

Lyn and Dale celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2008 with a visit to Peru with their kids, their spouses, and six granddaughters. Not long after Dale passed away in 2012, Lyn moved to be near John in Orlando, and became friend to residents and staff members alike of her senior apartment tower. While she often snidely remarked about life in an "old folks home" and the "unwritten rules of Westminster" (her tower), the relationships, community bridge and poker kept her mentally sharp. YouTube kept gave her access to choirs, orchestras, organists and a host of musical resources beyond her dreams. When the weather was right (as it often is in Florida), a ride with the top down in John's convertible was a preferred and pleasured transport to weekly outing to Applebee's.

A voracious reader, supportive pilot-wife, barn mom, partner in eccentric girlfriend outings, and enthusiast of the snarky retort, she enjoyed life and counted herself as blessed beyond measure by her loving God and Redeemer.

She is survived by her son, John (Dianne); daughter, Brenda (Van); six granddaughters, and four great-granddaughters.

A memorial service at St Paul's Episcopal Church is set for February 14, 2026, at 4:00 pm.

My condolences to the Webb family. I worked with Dr. Webb for many years. It's so hard to have both your parents gone but they are together again.
