Lynette Birkmaier Obituary
Lynette Griswold Birkmaier, age 95, of Trumbull, died Friday, October 17, 2025, at Stone Bridge, in Newtown. She was the beloved wife of the late Leslie E. Birkmaier. Born in Rockford, Illinois, she was the daughter of Merle and Nora Ostic Griswold. Lynette worked as an administrative assistant at Staples High School for over 30 years. She is survived by her son, Gary Birkmaier, and his wife, Lisa Laplante, grandson, Karl Birkmaier, sister, Joyce and brother, Paul. Please omit flowers. Funeral services will be private and restricted to immediate family only. Those who so desire may make a contribution in her memory to Faith Food Pantry in Newtown, https://www.newtownfoodpantry.org/donations . Gary, Lisa and Karl... So sorry to hear of Lynette 's passing. I shared a lot of good memories with her through letters and cards. Will miss her. My heart goes out to you all and God give you comfort in these sad times.

Lyn was a real presence at Staples, and she was always there when you needed a question answered. I first met her when I started at Staples in August 1993, when she was Lee´s assistant. She always approached her work, and her colleagues and students, with kindness, and a smile. She also had a sharp mind and a great presence. She will dearly be missed.
