Lynette E. Brain of Cheyenne, WY earned her angel wings on December 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family members. Lynette was born on June 15, 1978, and fought a difficult but brave five-year battle with cancer before her passing.

Lynette was born and raised in Cheyenne, WY. She graduated from Cheyenne Central High School in 1996 and held two associate degrees from Laramie County Community College.

Lynette loved animals, and in her later years she often gave the family dog, Piper—a border collie mutt—affectionate “rub downs.” She always looked skyward, whether watching a celestial event like a meteor shower or catching a glimpse of the US Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration team. She faithfully maintained the family Wordle streak from the time The New York Times introduced it, and she had a special fondness for sunrise and sunset photography.

Lynette was a friendly face at the Target and Hobby Lobby cash registers, always willing to listen to a story or share the latest sports standings. An avid sports fan, she spent Sundays cheering for –or occasionally swearing at—the Denver Broncos. During her lifetime, she witnessed the Colorado Avalanche win three Stanley Cups, the Broncos win three Super Bowls, the Denver Nuggets win an NBA championship, and even saw the historically bad Colorado Rockies appear in the World Series—only to be swept by the Boston Red Sox. When she was not engaged in football watching, she loved NASCAR.

Lynette is survived by her parents Leland and Linda Brain; her brother Russell Brain; her sister Michelle Brain and brother-in-law George Perdue; her nephews Andrew Brain, Orion Perdue, and Ewan Perdue; and her nieces, Emeley Brain and Taylor Martinovich. Lynette was preceded in death by her grandparents Leonard and Madeline Brain, and Martin and Opal Hockett; her aunt and uncle Donald H. and Connie Montgomery; and her aunt Darlene Wocicki.

She leaves behind countless memories and is deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A viewing will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes. Funeral services and interment will follow at 1:00 p.m.
