Sanders Funeral Care - KingmanLynette Rhae (Burke) Hicks, age 69 of Kingman, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Danville, Illinois on March 13, 1956 to the late Lawrence and Dorothy (Wertz) Burke.
Lynette graduated from Danville High School in 1974. She was a loving mother and homemaker and member of Prairie Creek Baptist Church. On August 22, 1998 she married Benny Joseph Hicks; he preceded her in death on July 20, 2020.
Lynette embraced life to the fullest, finding sheer delight in simple pleasures. Whether she was on the farm with her beloved dogs and cats, spending time with her cherished grandkids, or pursuing her passion for hunting and fishing, she truly cherished each moment. Many fond afternoons were spent relaxing on the porch, soaking up the sun and enjoying the beauty of nature, as well as exciting adventures of mushroom hunting.
Lynette was a dedicated homemaker, pouring her heart into her family and creating a nurturing environment filled with love. She is survived by her son, Jason Crawford, and daughters, Heather (JD Gerling) Crawford-Eaton, Lura (Ryan Billeter) Burke, and Anna Marie Henry; who will carry forward her spirit and the values she instilled in them; four grandchildren, Richard Wagner IV, Summer (Aneese) Wagner, Allura Billeter, and Shelby Billeter; and a sister, Diane Moreland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benny Hicks; a son-in-law, Albert "Randy" Eaton; and a grandson, Jayden.
Cremation was chosen with a memorial service at Prairie Creek Baptist Church, 2434 S. Kingman Road, Veedersburg on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Loren Stephens officiating.
