DECATUR - Lynn Burt, 81, of Decatur, passed away on October 31, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Lynn was born on April 20, 1942, to James and Mary Burt in Searcy, AR.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Burt; son, James Burt; daughters: Shannon Brandon, and Jennifer Ventress; grandchildren: Breann (Steven) Oswald, Ashton Burt, Zachary (Kate) Elliott, Brandon (Allison) Elliott, Kevin Brandon, Abigail Brandon, Grayson Ventress, and Olivia Ventress; sisters: Betty Waters, and Shirley Burt; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary Louise Burt; son, James Elliott; and son-in-law, Steven Ventress.
A visitation for Lynn will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. A memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with burial directly after at St. Isidore Cemetery in Bethany, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like a donation made to The Wounded Warrior Project or charity of your choice in honor of Lynn.
