Lynn Arlon Clamon was born November 2, 1945 in Camden, Texas to parents Roy Clamon and Bessie (Futch) Clamon and passed away January 6, 2023 in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don Clamon; and sister, Lynell Clamon.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Wanda (Cockrell) Clamon of Livingston, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Elisha Bell and Bo of Corrigan, Texas, Shana Dickens and Patrick of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Reagon Clamon and Julie Myers of Castroville, Texas; grandchildren, Mitch Bell and Candace, Blake Bell and Lexi, Shelby Smith and Stephen, Seth Dickens, Luke Clamon and Molly Clamon; great-grandchildren, Leon Smith, Asa Smith, Noah Smith Annalee Bell, and Banks Bell; brother and sister-in-law, Dale Clamon and Susan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan Whitworth and John, Sheryl Mitcham and Gary; friend and brother, Josh David, all from Chester, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lynn Clamon ends his life where it began – under the pines and sycamores, amid the deer blinds, the cattle pastures and the fishing holes. Lynn loved East Texas and the community spirit of small town life. His early schoolmates became lifelong friends. Hunting, fishing and working his cows were his favorite pastimes. He was renowned for his deer and hog processing and many a meal of venison, sausage and fresh vegetables was had at his and Wanda's home. The only thing that he placed above outdoors' work and sport was his love of his family. Because of him, they all love the outdoors, too.
Lynn and Wanda were the most perfectly matched couple. His slow, gentle way took the bite out of trouble and discord. Together they shared 53 years of all the ups and downs that life has to offer. Perhaps his greatest achievement was being father to his daughters (never step-daughters) Elisha and Shana and his son Reagon. Their families gave him the greatest pleasure of his life.
Like his father and uncles and friends who went before him, Lynn loved a good story and a good storyteller. Sitting at the fireplace or at the domino table, Lynn's laugh was always loudest and longest. His stories made us appreciate the humor of life and sometimes we learned from them.
