Lynn Hooper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Townson-Smith Funeral Home on Sep. 24, 2025.
Arnie Lynn Hooper, 54, of Robbinsville went home to be with the Lord on Monday September 22,2025.

Born to Eugene & Linda Hooper, Lynn is survived by his parents, daughter Kensley Kilburn her husband Nick Kilburn and grandson Shepherd; daughter Lacee Hooper & fiancé Jareth Holas; son 82nd Airborne specialist Masen Hooper; son Brody Hooper; brother Travis Hooper (Connie); honorary brother, Arnold Johnson; (Sister) Maria Shook (Bryan); Nephews Drew Rogers & Wyatt Shook; Niece, Jaycee Rogers; great niece, Ellie McClure; and so many loving family members & friends.

Our memories and hearts are filled with the wonderful moments that we had with him. Lynn loved & spoke frequently of his kids, family & friends, Robbinsville Wrestling, Grace Tabernacle Church and Roll Tide. He was most proud of his children. He loved any moment to brag about their accomplishments and his beautiful grandson.

Todd Odom said it best when he wrote the following. "Someone had to be the first. It was Lynn. Lynn Hooper was a 3x state qualifier for the Ville. He was also a 3x SMC Champion, a 3x Western Regional Champion, and placed 3rd in the state as a junior. He is remembered for the countless miles he logged, running around town in sweats as he worked his way towards his ultimate goal. As a senior, Lynn finished the season with a record of 39-1, and the 1A/2A state title he had sacrificed so much for. He went on to wrestle for 2 seasons at Wilkes Community College. He then became an assistant coach for the Black Knights of Robbinsville for 10 years. Lynn Hooper was just slick. Poetry in motion. He could attack from any position and looked good doing it. He was a student of the sport, and because of it, he was exceptional in all positions. A hammer on top, a wildcat off of bottom, and a dancer on his feet, Lynn was great at them all. Every wrestler at the Ville owes Lynn a debt of gratitude. Because of him, we knew that greatness was possible. '

Career Record - 110-26

"Championships are never given. If they were, everyone would have one. They are earned with hard work. Stay focused on your objective and you will be rewarded."

-Lynn Hooper
