Lynn Louise Kocan

Lynn Louise Kocan, age 64, of Morgantown, WV, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025. She was born on August 16, 1961 to the late John "Jack" R. Kocan and Mary Ann Maher Kocan. She was raised in Uniontown, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Laurie Beth Kocan
Lynn was a 1979 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School where she was on the Swim Team and Ski Club. She went on to receive her Nursing degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA and then had a career as a traveling nurse to many in need while living mostly in the Pacific Northwest. She loved the area and was looking forward to returning to Coos Bay someday. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters and gushed anytime she had a chance to talk about them.
Left to cherish Lynn's memory are her sons: Keenan Kocan, Liam Sandoval, Wyatt Sandoval (Jasmin) and Zander Sandoval alongside her granddaughters Nalani Renee Sandoval and Violet Mary Ann Sandoval. She is also survived by aunts, Virginia Rach of Greensburg, PA and Barbara Newel of Bridgeville, DE; uncle, Robert "Bob" Kocan of Gibsonia, PA, many cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave, Westover, WV (304-292-9494), followed by a private Inurnment alongside her family at Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.
